I hope you’ve all had an amazing Christmas? We’re in that limbo between the big day, and new year, so to break the monotony of indulgence, here’s a snippet from my forthcoming sequel to The Viking’s Conquest.

I scurry back towards him, pressing myself into his huge frame. “Please, Anders,” I whisper. “Promise me something.”
He reaches for me, cradling my head as he answers me. “What is it, my sweeting?”
“Don’t leave me again, My Lofðungr,” I implore him, wretched at how weak I sound, but meaning every word. “Please – I need you.”
I do need him. I need him to rule over me. It is what he has always desired, and I feel no shame in asking for it.
