The pace of his palm ceases at the sound of my voice, his grip on my body lessening just a fraction.
“Madelaine?” He makes my name sound so good, like something desirable and delicious.
“Please, sir,” I murmur, barely aware that I am begging – something I would have thought was even possible. “Please stop now.”
My voice is etched with the emotion which bubbles in me, my tears falling freely now.
“Madelaine.” There it is again, his delectable version of my name. “Let me explain. You do not get to decide when your punishment is over. That is for your master to decide, in this case – me.”
I draw in a shaky sob. I think I am nodding. Why am I nodding and acquiescing to this treatment? Did I not just ask him to stop? “But, sir…”
He answers me with another fierce swat, the strike reigniting my burning behind.
“Silence,” he orders. “You will remain quiet when you’re spanked, or I will gag you, Madelaine. Which would you prefer?”

I agree with Libby on this one. I guess he doesn’t believe in safewords, either. Perhaps a few consoling strokes to calm her before he continues? Even though he decides when they begin and when they stop, there comes a time when such punishments lose their effectiveness if the Dom continues despite his sub’s state of mind. And I’ve a feeling Madelaine may need something else from him right now. My heart goes out to her.
You’re right, but I guess out of context this scene makes him look rather more harsh than I’d intended. He has her best interests at heart. He just hasn’t shown it yet! 😉
