It’s the middle of the week again, and I am knee-deep in my Vikings! I have Vikings on my mind, they’re on my screen, and at my finger-tips. Hell, I’m even dreaming about Vikings right now! 😉 Anders and Aurelie will return again in 2018, but this time there are a host of new obstacles for them to overcome. This snippet sees a fresh dynamic in their relationship, but only time will tell if their love is strong enough to overcome the hurdles fate has thrown in their way…

“Aurelie.” The King’s voice is serious, and his hand moves to my wrist, pulling me closer. “Take care of my boy.” He squeezes my flesh as best he can, his muscles weakening as his fingers fall to my digits.
“I will, My Lofðungr,” I reply, my own eyes pricking with tears. After everything, I have come to love him in my own way. He has been nothing but kind and supportive since I arrived in Lundborg – a friend to me, and an advocate. “I vow I will always take care of him.”
The King pulls his lips into a painful smile. “I know you will, my dear,” he murmurs, the weight of whatever ails him clearly growing. “And you Anders,” he twists his head as best he can towards his son. “Remember what I have told you. Be a wise and fair ruler, and a considerate husband. She is a beautiful lady. Discipline her when you must, but Anders, promise me you will always love her.”
I glance to my husband, watching his handsome face conflicted with the turmoil. A part of him inside is dying along with his father, yet he knows what responsibility lies ahead, and that he must face it like a Viking. And that means head on, and without fear.

Awww! I feel so bad for Anders. Losing a parent is never easy. I hope that he listens to his father’s advice. Great snippet, Felicity! 🙂

Thanks, Meredith. 🙂 It might finally be time for Anders Elkstrom to grow up…
