Sorting through and testing the products, instruments, supplies, and devices left over from Doc Bellingham was a tedious, ongoing chore. David was stymied by some of the items, and resorted to capturing visual images, relaying those back to the starship Wilhelm, for identification.
He held up a thermometer and examined it. “It’s a good thing I took a class in Primitive Medical Tools and Procedures at the University.”
Amy shivered. “Sounds horrible.”
“It was quite a popular class, believe it or not.” He grinned. “Do you know what this is?”
“It’s a thermometer.”
“Yes, but, what kind of thermometer is it?”
Understanding dawned on Amy as she took one look at the devilish grin on David’s face.
He closed the gap between them, and wiggled it under her nose. “It’s a rectal thermometer.”
“Ah,” she said, ducking away from him. “You keep that thing away from me.”
He shook it and attempted to read from it. He winked at her. “I’m not sure it’s working. I think we need to test this.”
She crossed her arms. “May I remind you that I’m your superior officer on this mission? If you wish to test it, then shove it—”
David set the thermometer on the table, and drew Amy into his arms. “You don’t need to remind me. You know I’d give my life for this mission, and for you, if need be.” He kissed her. “I only thought we could have a little fun. What do you say, Nurse, shall we play Doctor?”
“I’ve already seen yours, Doctor,” she giggled. “Several times. And, you’ve seen mine.”
He grinned and tapped his foot. “Well?”
She nodded. “Okay, let’s play.”
David let her go, and went to the supply cabinet where he pulled out a few items.
Amy prepared the examination table by laying a strip of clean fabric over its leather padding.
“Doctor needs the patient to undress.” David sat on the stool he used for exams and waited for Amy to remove her nurse’s smock.
Even though he was one of her lovers and had seen her nude many times, Amy assumed a coy pose. She enjoyed teasing him. Dropping her gaze, she fumbled with the buttons on her dress.
“Nervous?” David asked, with a mild jibe in his voice.
Amy gave him a bashful smile while unbuttoning the rest of her dress. Holding the gown in place for a moment, she caught his eye, then let the dress fall to the floor. She lifted the hem of her chemise, and slowly pulled it over her head. Tossing it aside, she stood fully naked in front of him.
“I love that you aren’t wearing those old fashioned corsets and bloomers all the other ladies wear. It makes things so much easier.” David crooked his finger at her. “Come here.”
She stepped over her dress, and stood between his knees.
“I gave up wearing a corset on my second day here. It was too uncomfortable. So, how is it you know what the other ladies wear under their clothes?”
“I’m the town doctor. I know what everyone wears.”
Her nipples peaked, and he leaned forward to caress them with his tongue. At the same time, he stroked the back of her thighs. Amy whimpered.
“Not yet, my sweet. We have some gadgets to check out. I want you to lie on the examining table on your tummy, with your legs spread wide.”
I love a dominant man, she thought and followed his orders.
David spread her buttocks open, and used his finger to apply a dollop of something cold and greasy between her bare bottom cheeks.
Amy flinched.
“Steady now. It’s only a pasty mix of olive oil and water. It will ease the passage of the thermometer.” He rubbed some into her nether hole.
Amy stiffened as David pressed the glass tube against her rosette, but he gave her a sharp smack on her fanny.
“The good doctor will spank a naughty patient, if he has to.”
The sharp sting caused her to take a deep breath and collect herself. It relaxed her, and she wished he would do it again.
“I-I’ve never been probed there before.” The statement was a half lie; she had not been probed there since her body rejuvenation.
David pushed, and the tip slipped past the tiny circle of her sphincter.
“I see that you are already enjoying it.” He worked it deeper, and twirled it around. “All right, I need you to hold still, miss. It will take a few minutes for your temperature to display.” He placed his other hand on her bottom as if he owned it. “Young lady, is your stomach bothering you?” He adopted an authoritative tone. “Have you had any digestive problems of late?”
She said the first thing that came to her mind. “I’ve been nervous lately.”
“Say no more. I will delve deep into this problem.”
