I was so saddened this week to read of Anne Rice’s passing.
My absolute favourite author, I have devoured Anne Rice’s books since I was a teenager. Her death brought many of those great stories back to the fore, especially one particular title.
Naturally, as a writer of BDSM, my mind was blown by the Sleeping Beauty saga. The first time I read those scenes I was overwhelmed that another writer envisaged such scintillating plot lines. Anne really opened my mind and helped me realise what was possible—if we believe.
When Beauty’s Kingdom was released, I was fortunate enough to receive a hardback advanced reader copy from Anne herself—a possession I treasure.
If you missed this fabulous book, take a look at the pages below and get ready to lose yourself in its lush prose.
I can’t recommend it enough!

I, too, was saddened to hear Anne Rice passed away. Her Vampires, her Witches with their Taltos, her Stand Alone books (i.e. “A Cry to Heaven” is one of my absolute favorites) , and all she wrote under her pen names were my obsession. I bought the Sleeping Beauty trilogy paperbacks when they first became available as a box set and lost myself in all the deliciousness.
Anne Rice was one of the pioneer authors who wrote how and what she wanted. And, she proudly penned it’s okay to like the dark, the “weird”, and the erotic. Thinking and feeling outside-the-box is best and always adventurous.
May she rest in peace and may others continue to discover her greatness.
